Mobile Backend Integration Developer(Swift, Kotlin, Flutter, ReactNative & Java) || Remote role

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and versatile Senior Mobile & Integration Developer to bridge the gap between cutting-edge mobile experiences and robust legacy systems. In this role, the mobile developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance native and cross-platform mobile applications. The ideal candidate possesses a unique blend of modern mobile expertise (Swift, Kotlin, Flutter, React Native) and the ability to seamlessly integrate these frontends with enterprise Java and COBOL backend systems.

Key Required Skills

• Modern Mobile Development: Expert-level capability in building mobile applications using Swift, Kotlin, Flutter, and React Native.
• Web & Hybrid Frameworks: Proficiency with Vue 3 for supporting web components/hybrid views.
• Enterprise Integration: Proven track record of integrating modern mobile interfaces with legacy COBOL and Java backend architectures.

Core Responsibilities

1. Mobile Application Development & Maintenance

• Native iOS: Design and develop native iOS applications using Swift and SwiftUI.
• Native Android: Design and develop native Android applications using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
• Cross-Platform: Build and optimize cross-platform applications using React Native and Flutter, writing clean, reusable, and modular code.
• Native Modules: Develop custom native modules when required to integrate platform-specific features not supported by standard cross-platform libraries.

2. Backend Integration & API Design

• Legacy Connectivity: Connect mobile frontends securely with existing COBOL-based and Java-based backend systems.
• API Development: Collaborate with backend engineering teams to build and consume RESTful APIs or GraphQL endpoints.
• Gateway Architecture: Design and implement API gateways to safely expose legacy services to modern mobile platforms.

3. UI/UX Collaboration & Optimization

• Responsive Design: Work closely with UI/UX designers to implement intuitive, responsive interfaces that strictly align with Apple Human Interface Guidelines and Google Material Design.
• Performance Tuning: Utilize performance profiling tools (Xcode Instruments, Android Profiler) to diagnose and resolve bottlenecks, optimize memory management, and ensure fluid animations.

4. Quality Assurance, CI/CD, & Security

• Testing: Develop comprehensive unit and integration tests using frameworks like Jest, XCTest, and Flutter Test.
• Automation: Set up and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines via GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Bitrise for automated building, testing, and deployment.
• Security & Compliance: Implement secure communication protocols (HTTPS), OAuth authentication, and robust data encryption. Ensure all applications comply with stringent insurance industry regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).

Foundation for Success (Basic Qualifications)

• Legacy & API Experience: Proven experience navigating legacy system architectures and leading API development projects.
• Cross-Platform Mastery: Demonstrated portfolio of shipped applications using React Native and/or Flutter.
• UI/UX Integration: Strong track record of accurately translating complex UI/UX wireframes into functional mobile code.
• Modern Tooling & DevOps: Deep familiarity with modern development workflows, including:
  • Version Control: Git / GitHub / GitLab
  • Cloud Services: AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
  • CI/CD & Automation: Experience configuring automated deployment pipelines.
  • Testing/Debugging: Advanced debugging skills across multiple IDEs and platforms.
