Data Center Technical Operations Engineer - FacilitiesOverviewWe are seeking a
Data Center Technical Operations Engineer - Facilities to support engineering and operations within an Amazon Data Center environment. This role is responsible for ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety of critical infrastructure systems while supporting maintenance, vendor coordination, and performance monitoring.
Key Responsibilities- Manage on-site technicians, experienced technicians, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure all work aligns with established procedures and best practices
- Establish performance benchmarks, conduct analysis, and prepare reports on facility operations and maintenance
- Partner with IT and business leaders to coordinate projects, manage capacity, and optimize performance and reliability
- Operate and support both routine and emergency services for critical systems, including:
- Switchgear
- Generators
- UPS systems
- Power distribution equipment
- Chillers and cooling towers
- Computer room air handlers
- Building monitoring systems
- Assist with the design and build-out of new data center facilities
- Support initiatives to improve efficiency and optimize facility operations
- Oversee asset tracking and inventory management
- Participate in recruiting and onboarding efforts
- Deliver high-quality service and ensure all customer requirements are met
Basic Qualifications- Bachelor's degree or Technical/Military/Trade School degree (or equivalent experience)
- 0-2 years of relevant work experience
- 0-2 years of leadership or management experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and leadership abilities
- Detail-oriented with the ability to work in fast-paced environments
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively
Preferred Qualifications- 0-2 years of data center engineering or facility operations experience
- 0-2 years of data center management experience
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- Fundamental understanding of network design, layout, and low-voltage copper/fiber cabling
Additional Requirements- Must be flexible and available to work weekends as needed
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Youngstown, OH.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $33.00/hr.
