Job Overview:
Our client is seeking a PaaS Administrator to work closely with a prominent customer. This role has high visibility across enabling delivery units. The successful candidate will bring a strong vision for embracing disruptive technologies, specifically in the PaaS domain focusing on the Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform, using an application-down approach to develop robust solutions for customer requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Implementation experience on enterprise PaaS solutions based on RedHat OpenShift on a variety of IaaS platforms like OpenStack, VMware, and Public Cloud.
- Demonstrate strong experience in OCP (OpenShift), RedHat, Virtualization (KVM), and VMware.
- Deploy the latest version of OpenShift with CoreOS as the operating system.
- Implement OCP ecosystem tools for logging, monitoring, and alerting.
- Utilize a strong understanding of Virtualization, Container native storage, and OpenStack.
- Apply networking fundamentals, SDN, cluster and resource management, and Cloud deployment across AWS, Azure, Google, or IBM cloud platforms.
- Execute security implementation on Kubernetes following best practices.
- Apply hands-on experience with GitOps for platform and application deployment.
- Utilize knowledge and experience with Container native storage such as Ceph, Gluster, and OCS.
- Implement DevOps principles and build CI/CD Pipelines using Jenkins and other DevOps tool stacks.
- Assist in migrations and assessment of applications on platforms written in different languages and technologies (Java, PHP, Python, Ruby, Terraform, WAS, WebLogic) to open-source solutions involving Docker or Kubernetes Frameworks.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science or other relevant streams.
- Certifications in OpenShift are preferred.
- At least one public cloud computing-related certification is preferred.
Professional Experience Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience in complex or large enterprise customer-facing positions as a technology Consultant, Administrator, or Engineer.
- 6+ years of hands-on experience on OpenShift or related technologies.
- Excellent hands-on experience with Docker in setting up and managing private Docker Trusted Registry (DTR).
- Working knowledge of technologies like Red Hat Enterprise Linux CoreOS, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Hands-on experience with OpenShift manual and automated (UPI/IPI) deployment, as well as managing multiple environments and clusters.
- Familiarity with industry best practices and fluency in explaining them to stakeholders.
- Experience and knowledge regarding microservices deployments and auto-scaling, alongside application development tools and software lifecycle processes.
- Hands-on experience with OpenShift or Kubernetes setup, installation, and administration.
- Familiarity with industry-leading orchestration tools like Ansible or similar products.
- Knowledge of software development processes in an agile environment with a focus on DevOps and CI/CD.
- Quick learner with the ability to present solutions and complex technical concepts to various audiences.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at different management levels.
- Experience in migration from 3.x to 4.x of the OpenShift container platform is an added advantage.
