Location: On-site at 2 MTC, Brooklyn, NY (Hybrid option: 3 days in office / 2 days remote)
Duration: December 22, 2025 December 20, 2026 (Approx. 1 year, 1820 hours)
Role Overview The Public Safety Planner plays a critical role in supporting project management functions within the Public Safety Programs division. This position focuses on
strategic planning, scheduling, analytical support, and administrative coordination to ensure successful execution of complex projects. The planner will work closely with project managers and cross-functional teams to maintain project momentum and deliver exceptional organizational outcomes.
Key Responsibilities Scheduling - Develop, maintain, and optimize project schedules using Microsoft Project.
- Coordinate resource allocation across multiple projects.
- Monitor schedule performance, identify conflicts, and prepare reports including critical path analysis and milestone tracking.
Project Planning & Strategy - Define project approach, resource requirements, and roles.
- Develop project charters, scope statements, and communication plans.
- Coordinate site visits and ensure alignment of requirements.
Assistant Project Management - Support project managers in planning, execution, and monitoring.
- Track deliverables, milestones, and performance metrics.
- Facilitate communication between stakeholders and assist in risk management.
Analytical Support - Conduct data analysis for decision-making and performance optimization.
- Maintain dashboards, KPIs, and perform trend analysis.
- Create reports and visualizations for executive briefings.
Document Management - Establish and maintain document control systems.
- Ensure compliance with version control and retention policies.
- Manage document distribution and maintain standardized templates.
Administrative Support - Support PMO functions including change requests, scheduling, and reporting.
- Ensure proper storage of project artifacts throughout the lifecycle.
Mandatory Qualifications - Bachelor's degree from an accredited college.
- Minimum 4 years of experience on medium to large-scale projects.
- At least 4 years in Project Management services.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Project.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Experience with SharePoint document management.
- Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, Visio.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications - PMP Certification.
- Experience managing third-party service providers.
- Background in data analytics or business intelligence.
- SharePoint development experience.
- Familiarity with Smartsheet.
