Callouts:
- Local to Lexington or Louisville and/or willing to be in office 3 days a week every week; M/F from home and Tues- Thurs in office
- Basic familiarity with Eaton and SEL RTU Programming
Develop settings for substation projects using existing RTU standards
• Create point assignment sheets and review with substation design engineers
• Understand and apply communication standards set by network engineers to substation designs
• Troubleshooting data/communication issues with system operators and Relay Test personnel.
• Responsible for Remotely Programming Devices such as reclosers and cap banks on the distribution line for new Installations, failed equipment and downstream protection setting updates.
• Responsible for programming applicable systems to support new installations.
Basic Requirements
• Strong work ethic and attendance history
• Very strong computer skills
• 3-5 years of work experience
• Bachelor’s degree preferred in computer science/engineering/mathematics etc. Relevant years of work history may be considered in lieu of 4-year degree as well.
Preferred Qualifications
• Engineering or Engineering tech degree
• 2-5 years of utility experience
• Experience programming SEL and Eaton relays, RTUs, Gateways or similar smart grid devices
• Distribution/Transmission protection and controls experience and/or relay test experience
