Business Analyst (IT / Business Systems)

Overview

The Business Analyst serves as the bridge between business teams and IT, helping translate operational needs into technical solutions. This role is responsible for gathering requirements, analyzing business processes, documenting solutions, and supporting testing to ensure technology initiatives align with business goals.

The Business Analyst works closely with stakeholders and IT teams to evaluate existing systems, identify improvement opportunities, and help implement solutions that enhance operational efficiency and performance.

Key Responsibilities

Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and IT teams
Gather, analyze, and document business and technical requirements
Evaluate current business processes and identify improvement opportunities
Translate business needs into functional requirements and use cases
Support solution design and collaborate with technical teams on implementation
Assist with user acceptance testing (UAT), test case development, and validation
Document current and future-state processes
Assist in research, reporting, and development of business cases
Help ensure delivered solutions meet stakeholder needs

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
1–3 years of experience in business analysis, systems analysis, or related roles
Experience working with business stakeholders and IT teams
Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills
Familiarity with business analysis frameworks and best practices (IIBA knowledge is a plus)
Banking or financial services experience preferred
