Epic Tapestry Premium Billing Analyst

Job Summary

The Epic Tapestry Premium Billing Analyst is responsible for the design, build, configuration, and support of Epic Tapestry Premium Billing functionality within an integrated payer-provider or health plan environment. This role ensures accurate premium billing, invoicing, reconciliation, and financial reporting while supporting regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and system optimization. The analyst partners closely with finance, membership, accounting, and IT teams to deliver reliable premium billing workflows and scalable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze business requirements related to premium billing, invoicing, payments, adjustments, refunds, and reconciliations within Epic Tapestry.
  • Design, build, configure, and maintain Epic Tapestry Premium Billing components, including billing rules, rate structures, bill cycles, premium products, member accounts, and financial transactions.
  • Support end-to-end premium billing workflows from enrollment through billing, payment posting, delinquency, termination, and reinstatement.
  • Collaborate with finance, accounting, and membership teams to ensure premium billing aligns with health plan policies, regulatory requirements, and financial controls.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve premium billing issues, including billing errors, payment discrepancies, account balances, and transaction posting problems.
  • Perform unit testing, integrated testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT) for new builds, enhancements, upgrades, and regulatory changes.
  • Support month-end and year-end financial processes related to premium billing, including reconciliation and audit support.
  • Develop and maintain system documentation, build specifications, workflows, test scripts, and training materials.
  • Participate in Epic upgrades, enhancements, and optimization initiatives related to Tapestry Premium Billing.
  • Provide production support, root cause analysis, and ongoing system optimization to improve billing accuracy and operational efficiency.

Required Qualifications

  • Epic Tapestry certification with demonstrated experience in Premium Billing (certification or proficiency required).
  • 3+ years of experience as an Epic Tapestry analyst or health plan systems analyst supporting premium billing or payer financial workflows.
  • Strong understanding of health insurance premium billing concepts, including billing cycles, rate structures, subsidies, payments, adjustments, and reconciliations.
  • Experience working with finance, accounting, or health plan operations teams.
  • Ability to analyze complex workflows, translate business needs into system design, and deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in an integrated payer-provider organization
  • Knowledge of downstream financial processes such as general ledger interfacing and financial reporting.
  • Experience supporting regulatory requirements (e.g., government programs, audits, billing compliance).
  • Familiarity with Epic reporting tools (Reporting Workbench, Chronicles, or Clarity).
  • Experience supporting system upgrades, large initiatives, or implementations.

Work Environment

  • Primarily remote with travel once a quarter for milestones

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $85.00 - $90.00/hr.
