Systems Developer

BlueSky is seeking an Systems Developer for our valued national Telecommunications Service Provider!

We are seeking a dynamic Developer to join a fast-moving technology team that delivers solutions to complex business challenges in real time. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a high velocity environment, enjoys solving ambiguous problems, and can quickly translate business needs into functional technical tools!

Key Responsibilities

Rapid Application Development

• Design, build, and maintain enterprise tools and web applications using low-code platforms (OutSystems preferred).

Operational Engineering Support

• Participate in daily tactical planning sessions to prioritize development work and address urgent business needs.

Data Engineering for Analytics:

• Design SQL schemas, views, and data models optimized for business intelligence platforms such as Power BI.

Python:

• Develop lightweight Python services and applications to handle specialized business logic or data processing outside the low-code platform.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

• Work directly with business units to translate concepts into technical specifications and working prototypes.

Continuous Optimization:

• Identify performance bottlenecks and implement creative, efficient technical solutions.

Professional Qualifications:

• Strong understanding of SQL and relational database design
• Solid grasp of core programming logic (loops, arrays, conditional logic)
• Experience integrating low-code platforms, Python services, and SQL databases
• Familiarity with asynchronous messaging systems (AMQP / RabbitMQ) preferred
• Experience running applications or scripts in server environments (Windows or Linux)
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and context-switch effectively
• Resourceful problem-solver comfortable using CSS, JavaScript, or SQL workarounds when platform limitations arise

Education & Experience:

We value demonstrated capability over specific credentials. Candidates may come from a variety of backgrounds, including:

• entry level candidates in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Systems
• Self-taught developers with strong project portfolios
• Professionals with experience in OutSystems, PowerApps, or similar rapid application development platforms
