QA Automation Engineer

A globally leading consumer device company headquartered in Cupertino, CA is looking for a QA Engineer to join a HID sensor Firmware QE team! You'll help test firmware and build automation to ensure high quality for next-generation devices. We're looking for someone who cares about user experience, works well with others, and enjoys problem-solving.
Job Responsibilities:

• Learn how embedded systems and firmware work together
• Help test sensors and firmware to meet quality standards
• Work with development teams to understand and test new features
• Write automated test scripts
• Run manual and automated tests on prototypes
• Document test cases and results
• Help build test tools and fixtures
• Track and report issues to help drive them to resolution
• Collaborate with User Study teams to understand how people use our devices

Key Qualifications:

• Interest in quality engineering and creative testing approaches
• Comfortable working with early hardware prototypes
• Eager to learn new skills and share knowledge with teammates
• Coding experience, solid fundamentals with Python or similar scripting languages
• Experience in working with embedded systems and sensors
• Basic understanding of serial communication (I2C, SPI, UART)
• Clear written and verbal communication skills
• Engineering degree (CS, EE, CE, etc), engineering related courses or related work experience

Helpful Experience:

• Past work experience in firmware or embedded systems
• Quality or Test experience, designing robust frameworks of test suites
• Familiarity with Mac, iOS, or UNIX systems
• Basic knowledge of debugging tools (logic analyzers, oscilloscopes)
• Experience with automation or continuous integration

Type: Contract
Duration: 12 months with extension
Work Location: Cupertino, CA (hybrid)
Pay Rate: $30.00 - $ 40.00 (DOE)
