Summary

Job Title: Windows Systems Administrator
Work Location: Hybrid; onsite 2-5 times a week in Arlington, VA (applicant must be based within a commutable distance (1-2 hours) within the DMV)

Alpha Omega is seeking a qualified Systems Administrator to maintain and troubleshoot Windows and digital management systems for the organization. The Administrator will also be responsible for the management and logistics of systems tracking equipment deployment for federal law enforcement personnel.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and apply updates and patches to hardware and software systems.
  • Ensure system stability, security compliance, and optimal performance.
  • Manage user access and permissions in accordance with ICE security policies.
  • Coordinate with federal IT teams and product vendor to support hardware and software deployment across multiple regional sites.
  • Assist with the logistics and tracking of device deployment and docking station installation.
  • Coordinate IT Field Operations (ITFO) training on the use of deployed devices.
  • Prepare deployment readiness checklists, develop SOPs, and provide technical guidance for IT management.
  • Assist the program management office and service desk with ticket resolution, address access issues, facilitate password resets, and respond to technology support inquiries.
  • Provide continuous technical direction to field personnel and other ICE offices regarding the use of the digital evidence management system.
  • Document system configurations, deployments, incidents, and resolutions for audit and reporting.
  • Generate usage and performance reports to evaluate system reliability and officer adoption rates.
  • Collaborate with project managers, ITFO, and vendor support representatives to ensure project milestones are met.
  • Assist the PMO in drafting and reviewing technical documentation, such as system architecture, deployment plans, user guides, and security compliance reports.
  • Provide technical insight for writing tasks, including project briefs, status reports, and responses to stakeholder queries.
  • Experience with maintaining logistics for a large user base.


Required Qualifications:

Experience/Skills:
  • 5+ years of demonstrated experience in systems administration
  • Experience with Windows server administration, including identity and access management
  • Experience with Azure Active Directory
  • In-depth understanding of networking principles and protocols including routing, switching, and security
  • Understanding of group policies
  • Strong understanding of security and compliance best practices
  • Strong PowerShell scripting skills
  • Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong communication skills


Preferred Experience/Skills:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Active or recent previous DHS experience desired


Preferred Certification(s):
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE)
  • Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA)
  • Microsoft Windows Server Administrator Certification


Salary and Benefit Information:

The likely salary range for this position is $70,000 - $130,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position and could fall outside of this range.
