Job Title: Hadoop Developer

Duration: 12 months

Location: Addison TX / Newark DE

Payrate: $65.00 - 68.26/hr

3 days in office required

Position Summary:

This is a Hadoop Platform Engineering role supporting a new initiative in Addison, TX. As part of the SDP Solution Center team, the candidate must possess a passion for producing high quality data solutions, be ready to jump in and solve complex problems, and perform code reviews.

*Recently Cloudera and Hadoop required - Not looking cloud or database engineers

Top 3 skills:

1. Cloudera CDP Hadoop Administration with strong background in Unix and Infrastructure

2. Spark, Python, PySpark

3. Hive, Impala

4. Ozone

Required Education: Bachelors +

Characteristics of a top performer; Self-motivated, needs minimal direction and strong analytical skills.

Deal Breaker Items: Lack of experience in large Hadoop environments.

Other required skills:

7+ years of hands-on experience in software development with 2+ years of hands-on experience in Data Engineering

Strong understanding of Java or Python

Collaborate with Solution Architects and technology groups to design, develop, and maintain software solutions

Experience working on Agile teams

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Skills:

Strong background in SQL

5+ experience in Hadoop, Cloudera is a plus

Strong experience in performance tuning and troubleshooting

Overall scope of work:

Take ownership of project related tasks and be on point until completion.
