About the Role:
The UI Engineer will help implement and evolve the end-to-end product experience across the Catalyst recruitment platform-from candidate sourcing through placement. This role is central to building AI-powered workflows that help recruiters move faster and make better hiring decisions.
You will build and iterate on intuitive interfaces that connect seamlessly with APIs, services, and AI capabilities. As a key contributor to the UI layer, you will execute features from ideation through implementation and testing, delivering a polished, high-quality user experience.
You should care deeply about user interaction details and understand how AI systems behave at the UI layer, translating complex outputs into clear, trustworthy experiences recruiters can act on.
This role emphasizes strong execution, iteration speed, and product quality, working closely with product and engineering partners.
Responsibilities:
- Design and build high-quality user interfaces for the Catalyst recruiting platform, shaping the end-to-end recruiter experience from candidate sourcing through placement
- Translate complex AI outputs and product logic into intuitive user interfaces that make candidate insights and recommendations easy for recruiters to understand and act on
- Own the end-to-end UI development lifecycle, from ideation and rapid prototyping through implementation, testing, and production deployment
- Deliver complex product features that integrate seamlessly with backend APIs, services, and AI-powered capabilities
- Move quickly to implement UI improvements, usability fixes, and product enhancements without relying on heavy processes
- Maintain strong engineering quality through testing, regression validation, and attention to detail
- Help shape how AI-powered recruiting workflows are experienced by real users, defining how intelligent automation integrates into everyday recruiting decisions
Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience using AI development tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, or similar to build, iterate on, or accelerate software development
- Experience implementing AI-driven features or integrating AI capabilities into production applications
- Strong front-end engineering skills, with experience building production-grade interfaces for cloud-based or SaaS applications using modern frameworks (e.g., React, TypeScript, or similar)
- Self-driven and proactive, with the ability to quickly learn new technologies and work effectively alongside highly capable engineers in a fast-moving environment
- High standards for UI quality, with a strong eye for interaction design, visual consistency, and the small details that make product experiences feel polished
- Have a bias toward improving systems rather than working around limitations-you proactively identify root causes and work to elevate the overall product experience
- Ability to take product direction and translate it into thoughtful, well-executed solutions, delivering features with attention to detail and engineering rigor
- Experience working effectively in remote or distributed engineering teams, with strong communication and ownership of deliverables
