Role Summary
We are looking for an experienced SAP Integration Consultant to design, build, and support secure, scalable integrations between SAP S/4HANA and cloud and on-premise systems. The ideal candidate combines deep SAP technical knowledge with hands-on experience in SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), the SAP Cloud Connector, and enterprise network architecture. You will work closely with functional teams, architects, and security stakeholders to deliver reliable hybrid landscapes.
Required Qualifications
• 6+ years of SAP integration experience, with at least 3 years in S/4HANA projects.
• Hands-on experience with SAP BTP, including subaccounts, Cloud Foundry or Kyma environments, and Destination service.
• Strong working knowledge of SAP Cloud Connector setup, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with SAP Integration Suite (Cloud Integration) and familiarity with message mappings (XSLT, Groovy, Message Mapping).
• Good to have experience on networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, proxies, VPNs, load balancers, and TLS/SSL certificates.
• Knowledge of authentication and authorization standards: OAuth 2.0, SAML 2.0, X.509 certificates, and Principal Propagation.
• Experience with IDoc, RFC, OData, SOAP, and REST integration patterns.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to read logs, traces, and network captures.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Good to Have
Integration between SAP and Commerce Cloud.
Strong knowledge of IDoc-based integration.
Experience integrating SAP Commerce Cloud with systems other than SAP ECC.
Experience integration backend with SAP Commerce Cloud.
Key Responsibilities
• Design and implement integration scenarios between ECC/S/4HANA (on-premise or private cloud) and SAP BTP, third-party SaaS applications, and legacy systems.
• Configure and maintain SAP Integration Suite capabilities, including Cloud Integration (iFlows), API Management, and Event Mesh, following SAP best practices.
• Install, configure, and operate SAP Cloud Connector, including subaccount onboarding, location IDs, access control (allowed resources), high availability setup, and certificate management.
• Establish secure connectivity between BTP subaccounts and on-premise S/4HANA systems using Cloud Connector, Destinations, and Principal Propagation.
• Good knowledge on configuring destinations, OAuth 2.0 and SAML trust settings, and credential stores in BTP.
• Good understanding on network and security features e.g., firewall rules, reverse proxy configuration, TLS/SSL certificates, DNS, and port requirements for hybrid connectivity.
• Build and maintain IDocs, RFCs, OData services, SOAP, and REST interfaces between S/4HANA and external systems.
• Troubleshoot connectivity, latency, authentication, and message-processing issues across the full integration chain.
• Document architecture, data flows, security controls, and runbooks; contribute to governance and audit readiness.
• Support go-live, cutover, and hyper care activities, and act as an individual contributor and mentor to junior team members.
