Job Description:
Software Engineering - Software Engineer II

Location: New York, New York (Remote)

COMPENSATION: $61 - $71 HOURLY

Role Overview

This position is for a role on the team developing an internal requirements management platform for XR hardware and software programs. The platform is used by systems engineers, architects, TPMs, and feature teams to manage functional and non-functional requirements, traceability, and change control for complex, multi-build hardware programs. The primary challenge is to make a dense graph of thousands of requirements legible and safely editable for highly technical users.

Key Responsibilities
  • Redesign individual screens and user flows for functions such as document creation, requirement editing, and dependency linking.
  • Improve dense table and graph views by refining information hierarchy, filtering capabilities, and bulk actions.
  • Address empty and error states to enhance user experience.
  • Independently scope problem statements and propose design approaches.
  • Translate user-reported friction, including bugs and feedback, into concrete design fixes.
  • Produce development-ready specifications and partner with engineers through the build and QA process.
  • Sequence personal work against project milestones and maintain status visibility for a distributed team.
Required Qualifications

Experience: 4+ years of UX/product design experience with a portfolio of shipped work. Proven experience designing data-dense enterprise or internal tooling, including tables, graphs, hierarchies, and admin surfaces.

Technical Skills: Strong Figma skills, including components, variants, and design-system contribution.

Additional Skills: A track record of self-directed work with multiple concurrent deliverables and light supervision. Ability to interview technical users and translate domain complexity into clear interfaces. Excellent written communication skills in an asynchronous environment.
