Network Technician

Description

We are looking for a skilled Network Technician to join our team on a contract basis in Evergreen Park, Illinois. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the seamless installation and maintenance of network systems, including hardware and cabling. This position requires someone with strong attention to detail who can efficiently handle technical setups while maintaining a high standard of organization.

Responsibilities:
Install and configure patch panels, switches, firewalls/routers, and access points to ensure optimal network performance.
Label all cables and ports systematically for easy identification and troubleshooting.
Perform cable installations with precision to support stable and efficient connectivity.
Set up network systems and associated hardware in line with established standards and requirements.
Conduct regular inspections and testing of network equipment to identify and resolve potential issues.
Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations and installations.
Collaborate with team members to address technical challenges and implement effective solutions.
Ensure compliance with safety and technical protocols during all installation and maintenance activities.
Provide timely updates on project progress and address any concerns that arise.
Assist in troubleshooting network-related problems to minimize downtime.

Requirements

Proven experience in cable installation and network hardware setup.
Strong knowledge of configuring patch panels, switches, firewalls, and access points.
Ability to label and organize cables and ports systematically.
Familiarity with network troubleshooting and problem resolution.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members.
Ability to work independently and manage tasks efficiently.
