CONTRACT LENGTH: 3+ months, potential to extend based on need
LOCATION: Open to remote, but preference for Seattle-based candidates
HOURS: 40 hrs/week, no OT, Mon-Fri 8a-5p core hours
PAY RANGE: $60-68/hr
WHAT TEAM IS THIS CONTRACTOR PART OF? Outbound is a program responsible for email (push) and whatsapp channels. Drive the best practices and oversee other teams throughout the organization to create their own deliverables, marketing for outbound, check templates/components library for other teams' designs.
TEAM PURPOSE/KEY PROJECTS:- Helping create presentations for major campaigns - outbound team owns emails and push
- Overseeing production of outbound (30%)
- Supporting internal tooling within internal tool

WHAT IS THIS CONTRACTOR SPECIFICALLY DOING? Email notification
Developing internal tool
Helping team innovate and create, minimal level of design to help
Quickly yet thoroughly create process flows, wireframes, and visual design mockups as needed to effectively conceptualize and communicate detailed interaction behaviors.
Work closely with cross-functional teams to help define business and feature requirements via empirical online data, usability findings, market research, and proven UCD principles.
Assess and optimize the performance of new and existing features by actively participating in usability testing and interpreting analytics data using Omniture SiteCatalyst.
Present design work to the user experience team, product team, and Amazon.com executives for review and feedback
Contribute to user interface design and development best practices and standards.
Provide leadership in the area of ecommerce trends, web application design, and user interface innovations.
TOP MUST HAVE SKILLS:- Familiar with Figma (must be working with it)
- eCommerce experience
- UX designer skills
MAIN QUALIFICATIONS: 7+ years of UX Designer or interaction designer exp
7+ years industry experience providing interaction design solutions for web and/or software applications.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent professional experience.
Fluency in best practices for web-based information architecture and design, as well as strong knowledge of usability principles and techniques
Proficiency in a variety of design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks, Visio, and Dreamweaver.
A strong online portfolio demonstrating past work experience and relevant, user-centered design solutions is required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and analytical skills including the ability to communicate complex, interactive design concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization.
Self-starter who is a customer-obsessed, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic team player.
Ability to work with highly technical teams and handle multiple projects in an agile, fast-paced environment.
Ability to prototype in HTML, JavaScript, and CSS, or Flash highly desired.

SCREENING/SUBMITTAL PROCESS:- Required qualification call with a recruiter

- Must share a strong portfolio with good examples of previous work
INTERVIEW PROCESS:- x1 round (60min)
- 1st half to walk through 1-2 case studies (not walking through portfolio, but interviewee to bring a case study scenario through Powerpoint/slideshow/keynote to show end to end of a project.
- 2nd half will be conversational to go over background and experience
- Q&A at the end
