DERMS Application Support Analyst (Grid Systems)

Overview

The DERMS Application Support Analyst will provide technical and operational support for the Distributed Energy Resource Management System (DERMS) within the utility grid operations environment. This role supports the reliability and performance of DERMS and its integrations with key grid systems including ADMS, SCADA, and enterprise data platforms.

The resource will work closely with grid operations, engineering, and IT/OT teams to troubleshoot issues, support upgrades, manage defects, and ensure the stability of DERMS-related applications and integrations. Key Responsibilities

• Provide application support for DERMS and associated components, including DERMS Model Managers and integrations with grid systems.
• Support DERMS integrations with ADMS, SCADA, and PI Historian to ensure reliable data flow and operational performance.
• Lead and participate in technical troubleshooting sessions, performing hands-on investigation of system behavior, logs, and configuration issues.
• Support DERMS platform upgrades, including preparation, coordination, and validation through integration and system testing activities.
• Investigate and resolve application defects and integration issues, working with internal teams and vendors to track and implement fixes.
• Monitor application performance and assist with identifying potential system improvements or stability enhancements.
• Maintain and contribute to technical documentation, including troubleshooting guides, operational procedures, and system configurations.
• Collaborate with grid operations, engineering, and IT/OT teams to support ongoing DERMS operations and enhancements. Required Qualifications
• Experience supporting utility grid or operational technology (OT) applications.
• Experience providing application technical support within enterprise or grid system environments.
• Working knowledge of Linux operating systems and command-line fundamentals.
• Ability to analyze logs, diagnose issues, and troubleshoot application behavior.
• Ability to quickly learn DERMS business processes and operational workflows.
• Understanding of system integrations and data exchange between grid systems.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications
• Experience supporting Distributed Energy Resource Management Systems (DERMS).
• Familiarity with utility grid platforms such as ADMS, SCADA, or energy management systems.
• Experience supporting utility vendor platforms (experience with GE grid products is a plus).
• Experience supporting system integrations involving operational data platforms such as PI Historian.
• Knowledge of utility grid operations and distributed energy resource management concepts. Work Environment
