Automotive TPM - Chassis Firmware

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Palo Alto, CA that is seeking an Automotive Technical Program Manager to lead hardware and software integration initiatives for automotive chassis systems. This role will oversee firmware integration planning, defect management, validation coordination, and release management across multiple vehicle platforms.

Key Responsibilities:
* Lead cross-functional teams through the planning, development, testing, integration, and deployment of chassis firmware
* Coordinate hardware, firmware, software, systems engineering, validation, supplier, and vehicle integration teams
* Manage program schedules, milestones, dependencies, resources, risks, and deliverables
* Support firmware integration for electronic braking, electric power steering, parking brakes, TPMS, trailer brake controls, and vehicle dynamics systems
* Coordinate integration between steering, braking, suspension, and vehicle-level systems
* Apply knowledge of chassis architecture, control algorithms, hardware interfaces, CAN FD, and Automotive Ethernet
* Triage defects identified through software integration, lab vehicles, road testing, mileage accumulation, and vehicle validation
* Track defects through investigation, correction, verification, and closure
* Coordinate release readiness reviews, delivery milestones, release checklists, and release notes
* Partner with validation teams to define test plans, acceptance criteria, and integration requirements
* Support compliance with applicable quality, regulatory, and functional safety requirements
* Manage supplier relationships and ensure technical requirements and delivery expectations are clearly communicated
* Provide leadership with updates on program status, KPIs, risks, dependencies, and delivery progress

REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent relevant professional experience
* 5+ years of relevant experience in automotive software, firmware integration, or technical program management
* Experience supporting chassis software or firmware integration across automotive hardware and vehicle teams
* Strong technical knowledge of chassis systems, including braking, electronic parking brakes, tire pressure monitoring, steering, or vehicle dynamics
* Experience with automotive communication protocols, including CAN FD and Automotive Ethernet
* Experience managing software defects through investigation, prioritization, correction, verification, and closure
* Experience coordinating software or firmware releases
* Knowledge of Agile development methodologies and CI/CD practices
* Strong program planning, risk management, and cross-functional coordination skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills

The ideal candidate combines automotive software knowledge with strong program leadership experience and can coordinate teams supporting safety-critical systems such as braking, steering, tire pressure monitoring, vehicle dynamics, and related electronic control units.

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
