Job Description:
Position : Data Analyst

Location : Mclean, VA / Richmond, VA

Pay Range: $50/hr - $55/hr on W2

Duration: Long Term

Position Summary

A data analyst role focused on leveraging versatile technical capabilities to develop, evolve, and implement data products that enable self-service by data consumers. The position involves re-engineering data processes and migrating them from on-premises systems to cloud-based solutions, supporting the organization's data initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as a key data lead to drive the development, evolution, and implementation of data products that support self-service analytics.


• Re-engineer data processes and migrate existing processes from on-premises environments to cloud platforms.


• Explore industry trends, tools, and techniques in open-source, big data, and digital domains.


• Execute and monitor data processes that deliver critical data to partners and regulators.


• Develop prototypes and implement new business intelligence tools, solutions, and techniques.


• Assist in the development of standards and policies for business intelligence frameworks.


• Evaluate data management, data quality, and data access processes for gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities.


• Provide recommendations for improvements across data governance, metadata, lineage, data access rights, and business definitions.


• Develop data mapping to enable end users to transition more easily to new systems.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics discipline.


• At least 1 year of hands-on experience with Snowflake SQL.


• At least 1 year of experience with Python programming and automation scripting.


• At least 1 year of experience querying, analyzing, and working with data languages and platforms.


• The role requires a hybrid work model with physical attendance onsite 3 days per week.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics discipline.


• Previous experience in a control or risk management domain such as audit or credit operations.


• Over 1 year of experience working within process management and improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma.


• Over 1 year of experience demonstrating knowledge of data governance, data quality management concepts, and data quality tools.
