Role - Automation Architect
Location - Chicago, IL (Hybrid)
Note: we need a senior guy with genuine automation senior level expertise - who can TALK well and is able to give presentation to C level folks
Responsibilities include testing and automating the test cycle of an application that manages the tokenization of carbon offsets. This will include actual manual testing but also the design, development, execution and installation of test automation scripts within the test automation framework. The resource will participate in daily scrum, execute relevant tests/test scripts, update test execution statistics and metrics following processes as part of scheduled status updates.
Experience in Design, Development & Implementation of Automated test scripts or complex, global application.
Understand SDLC & QA concepts.

Job Description
- Over 12+ years of experience in software quality engineering, test automation, and QA transformation, with proven experience leading automation teams and driving enterprise-wide testing strategies.
- Design and implement scalable test automation frameworks using Java, Selenium WebDriver, Playwright, TypeScript, and TestNG to support web application testing across multiple platforms.
- Architect and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines by integrating automated testing into build and deployment processes, enabling continuous testing and faster release cycles.
- Develop reusable automation libraries, Java methods, utilities, and framework components that improve test maintainability, scalability, and execution efficiency.
- Lead automation strategy, framework modernization, tool selection, and adoption of industry best practices to improve software quality and reduce manual testing efforts.
- Create, manage, and analyze automation test reports and reporting dashboards, providing actionable quality metrics and release readiness insights to engineering leadership and business stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineering Managers, Solution Architects, and cross-functional teams to define quality objectives and align automation initiatives with business goals.
- Effectively communicate technical strategies, automation ROI, quality risks, and digital transformation roadmaps to C-level executives, translating complex technical concepts into business value.
- Mentor QA engineers, SDETs, and technical leads by conducting code reviews, establishing automation standards, promoting best practices, and driving continuous learning within the team.
- Leverage GitHub Copilot and modern AI-assisted development tools to accelerate automation development, improve code quality, and enhance engineering productivity while maintaining coding standards.
- Drive Agile/Scrum quality engineering practices, participate in sprint planning, risk assessments, estimation, and release planning, ensuring high-quality software delivery.
- Provide technical leadership in enterprise QA transformation, performance optimization, automation governance, and continuous improvement initiatives while managing stakeholder expectations and leading high-performing teams.
