Job Details

Our client, a well-established law firm, is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join its defense litigation practice. This opportunity supports attorneys handling a broad range of complex civil litigation matters, including catastrophic injury, product liability, and other high-exposure defense cases. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and be comfortable managing multiple active matters through all stages of litigation.

Responsibilities
  • Assist attorneys throughout all phases of litigation, from case inception through trial preparation and resolution.
  • Obtain, review, and organize medical records, billing documentation, insurance information, and related case materials.
  • Prepare medical treatment summaries, chronologies, damages analyses, and other litigation support documents.
  • Coordinate discovery, including drafting responses, preparing subpoenas, and managing document productions.
  • Support deposition and trial preparation by organizing exhibits, witness files, trial binders, and evidentiary materials.
  • Conduct factual and legal research and assist with the preparation of motions, pleadings, and other court filings.
  • File pleadings and litigation documents in both state and federal courts using electronic filing systems.
  • Monitor case deadlines, maintain litigation calendars, and track the progress of active matters.
  • Collaborate closely with attorneys, clients, experts, and outside vendors to ensure efficient case management.

Qualifications
  • Several years of experience supporting attorneys in civil litigation, preferably within a defense-oriented practice.
  • Familiarity with state and federal court procedures, including electronic court filing platforms.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize competing deadlines and manage a high-volume caseload.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented setting.
  • Experience utilizing litigation support and document management platforms such as Relativity, Everlaw, or similar systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Paralegal certificate or comparable litigation support experience preferred.
  • Experience with legal billing and document management software is considered a plus.
