Pay Rate: $60.00/hr On W2 or 70/hr on C2C

Role Summary
Seeking a 10+ years experienced Mainframe Production Support Specialist for a 100% on-site role in Chicago, IL.
The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise supporting mission-critical batch and real-time transaction applications built on COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, and VSAM. Responsibilities include L2/L3 production ticket resolution, batch job monitoring and optimization, DB2 performance tuning, root cause analysis (RCA), and techno-functional support within Fund Accounting or Securities Lending financial domains.

Key Responsibilities
* Production Support & ITSM Management: Provide L2/L3 production support for enterprise mainframe applications, driving incident, problem, and change management following standard ITSM practices.
* Batch Processing & JCL Optimization: Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize batch JCL jobs, scheduling workflows, and file management operations across high-volume environments.
* DB2 & Real-Time Transaction Support: Manage and optimize DB2 queries, stored procedures, and CICS online programs for real-time transaction processing and data retrieval.
* Incident Resolution & RCA: Analyze batch failures, debug complex COBOL/VSAM issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement permanent bug fixes.
* Domain & Stakeholder Alignment: Partner with cross-functional teams to align application capabilities with Fund Accounting and Securities Lending business requirements.

Required Skills
* Core Mainframe Technologies: 10+ Years COBOL, JCL, VSAM, CICS
* Database & Query Optimization: IBM DB2 for Mainframe, SQL Performance Tuning, Stored Procedures
* Operations & ITSM: Production Support, Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Control, Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
* Domain Knowledge: Fund Accounting or Securities Lending / Capital Markets

Preferred Qualifications
* Industry certifications in Mainframe Administration, DB2 Database Administration, or ITIL v3/v4 Foundation.
* Hands-on experience with automated batch schedulers (CA-7, Control-M, or OPC/TWS) and debugging tools (Xpediter, File-AID, Endeavor).
