We are looking for an AI Engineer or Senior AI Engineer to work alongside the Office of Technology (OT) to design build, and operationalize AI services that allow business users to work on governed AI environments to develop solutions. The role is hands-on and execution-focused, supporting the creation of reusable Azure-based AI templates and governance guardrails. The role involves working extensively with tools such as Microsoft Bicep, Microsoft Foundry, Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Search, and Azure Storage.
Key Responsibilities
Build and refine reusable AI templates, including: RAG starter environments, vector search-enabled applications, Copilot Studio-based AI agents, and fine-tuning.
Integrate core Azure services such as Microsoft Foundry, Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Search, and Azure Machine Learning.
Implement automation (Logic Apps) for ingestion, vectorization, and housekeeping tasks.
Set up governance; cost management, retention policies, automated shutdown, etc.
Document design, usage, and operations.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
Proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code, preferably Microsoft Bicep.
Proficiency and/or understanding with pipelines, preferably Azure DevOps.
Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, with emphasis on Azure Storage, Azure App Services, Azure Logic Apps, Azure Cost Management.
Hands-on experience with at least 1 of the following Azure AI services: Microsoft Foundry, Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Search, Azure Machine Learning.
Understanding of RAG, vector embeddings, fine-tuning, and custom ML workflows.
Strong Python skills for AI experimentation, automation, and validation scripts.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective communication and documentation abilities (will interface with business users).
