Overview / Summary
A Network Security Engineer is needed to support the Network Operations Center (NOC). Reporting to the NOC Manager, this role serves as a senior technical resource, handling complex networking and security assignments requiring independent judgment in troubleshooting, recommending solutions, and implementing changes with minimal supervision. This position supports a statewide enterprise network and is responsible for maintaining secure, reliable, and highly available network infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
Configure, install, maintain, and upgrade enterprise networking and security products.
Manage, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot statewide network infrastructure.
Monitor network performance and ensure reliable network communications.
Review and improve security compliance through cybersecurity best practices.
Implement updates and changes to maintain connectivity and security compliance.
Troubleshoot network outages, performance issues, and security incidents.
Perform network analysis, design, installation, configuration, and operational support.
Maintain network diagrams and technical documentation.
Provide advanced troubleshooting and problem resolution.
Support complex voice-integrated network infrastructure.
Collaborate with multiple technical teams in a fast-paced environment.
Manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Provide technical guidance and knowledge transfer to NOC team members.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor''s Degree OR four additional years of relevant experience in addition to the required years of experience.
10+ years of experience with Cisco Firewalls.
10+ years of experience with Cisco Routers.
10+ years of experience with Cisco Switches.
10+ years of experience with Cisco VPN.
10+ years of experience with Cisco Network Administration.
5+ years of experience with Palo Alto Firewalls.
2+ years of experience with Palo Alto XDR.
Strong experience managing and troubleshooting enterprise network infrastructure utilizing Cisco/Meraki, Palo Alto, Fortinet/FortiGate, Certes, Citrix NetScaler, and Trellix.
Strong experience with Cisco IPS.
Experience with enterprise network troubleshooting, routing, switching, NOC operations, security compliance, and network documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
10+ years of experience with network monitoring and tracing tools.
10+ years of experience in core network architecture.
10+ years of experience with advanced routing, switching, and troubleshooting.
4+ years of experience with wireless networking.
3+ years of experience with hybrid cloud infrastructure.
Preferred certifications: CCNA, CCNP.
