Position OverviewAutodesk is seeking a highly experienced and visionary Engineering Director specializing in 3D Geometry to lead our engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving the development and delivery of advanced 3D geometry components that support our suite of design and engineering products.
Responsibilities- Lead and mentor several teams of software engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment. Conduct regular meetings and 1-1 discussions with the development managers on the team, and skip-level 1-1s with a select group of technical leaders
- Oversee the design, development, and deployment of 3D geometry algorithms and solutions
- Working closely with Product Management, drive the strategic vision and roadmap for 3D geometry within Autodesk's product ecosystem
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management and partner product engineering teams to ensure requirements alignment and delivery of high-quality products
- Foster the development of engineering best practices, coding standards, and methodologies to ensure the teams produce high-quality, scalable, and maintainable code
- Stay abreast of advancements in 3D geometry and related technologies, and integrate new techniques and technologies into our products
- Manage project timelines, milestones, and resource allocation to ensure timely delivery of solutions
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field. A Ph.D. is a plus
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering with at least 5 years of experience in developing 3D geometry solutions
- Proven experience in a leadership or managerial role, with a track record of successfully leading engineering teams
- Strong conceptual knowledge of 3D geometry, computational geometry, and related algorithms
- Familiarity with modern software engineering tools and practices, including AI coding assistants such as Claude, Microsoft Copilot, Cursor, etc.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams
- Experience in Agile development methodologies
Preferred Qualifications- Experience in the CAD software industry or familiarity with Autodesk's product suite
- Knowledge of machine learning techniques and their application to 3D geometry
- Experience with cloud-based architecture and services

- Favoriser le dveloppement de bonnes pratiques d'ingnierie, de normes de codage et de mthodologies afin de garantir que les quipes produisent un code de haute qualit, volutif et facile maintenir
- Se tenir inform des avances en matire de gomtrie 3D et des technologies connexes, et intgrer de nouvelles techniques et technologies dans nos produits
- Grer les calendriers de projet, les jalons et l'allocation des ressources afin de garantir la livraison des solutions dans les dlais
Qualifications minimales- Licence ou master en informatique, mathmatiques, ingnierie ou dans un domaine connexe. Un doctorat est un atout
- Plus de 10 ans d'exprience en gnie logiciel, dont au moins 5 ans dans le dveloppement de solutions de gomtrie 3D
- Exprience avre dans un rle de direction ou de gestion, avec des antcdents de russite dans la direction d'quipes d'ingnieurs
- Solides connaissances conceptuelles en gomtrie 3D, en gomtrie computationnelle et en algorithmes connexes
- Matrise des outils et pratiques modernes d'ingnierie logicielle, y compris les assistants de codage bass sur l'IA tels que Claude, Microsoft Copilot, Cursor, etc.
- Excellentes comptences en rsolution de problmes, avec une capacit rflchir de manire critique et crative
- Comptences exceptionnelles en communication et en relations interpersonnelles, avec une capacit collaborer efficacement avec des quipes diversifies
- Exprience des mthodologies de dveloppement Agile
Qualifications souhaites- Exprience dans le secteur des logiciels de CAO ou connaissance de la suite de produits Autodesk

Salary transparencySalary is one part of Autodesk's competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $193,800 and $313,500. Offers are based on the candidate's experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, our compensation package may include annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
Salary is one part of Autodesk's competitive compensation package. For Canada-BC based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $173,000 and $254,100. Offers are based on the candidate's experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, our compensation package may include annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
