Sr Developer Iseries(AS/400) + API

Position Summary
We are seeking a candidate with a Bachelor''s Degree (preferably in Computer Science,
Information Systems, or a related field) and strong technical leadership experience
developing solutions across both legacy systems and modern application platforms within
the Enterprise Item domain.
The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in I-Series (AS/400) technologies, backend
services, and system integrations, along with the ability to analyze complex applications,
databases, and business processes to derive functional and business logic. This individual
will play a key role in modernizing enterprise capabilities while ensuring continuity and
support for critical legacy systems.

Experience Required

● 8+ years of hands-on development experience with I-Series (AS/400) systems using
RPGLE and CLP.
● Strong ability to analyze existing applications, source code, database structures, and
data flows to understand, document, and enhance business and functional processes.
● Experience reverse-engineering legacy systems and translating technical
implementations into business requirements and functional capabilities.
● 5+ years of experience designing, developing, and supporting backend services,
system interfaces, and integrations, including SOAP and REST APIs (JSON/XML), API
versioning, and microservices architectures.
● 5+ years of application development experience using .NET Core and C# to build
modern applications and integrations with enterprise systems.
● Experience developing and documenting technical solutions that address business
challenges while balancing short-term needs and long-term maintainability.
● Ability to create development estimates and implementation plans based on business
and technical requirements.
● Experience establishing and following coding standards, security practices, API
governance, and software development best practices.
● Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and
modern software delivery practices.
● Strong collaboration skills with both business and technology teams, including the
ability to translate technical concepts into business-friendly language.
● Domain knowledge in retail merchandising, item setup, product lifecycle
management, or related business processes is preferred.
● Experience with Product Information Management (PIM), Supplier Portals, or
Enterprise Item Management platforms is a plus.
