Job Summary
A growing manufacturing environment in Lebanon, IN is seeking a Materials Engineer for a direct hire opportunity focused on customer applications, surface treatment processes, technical project support, and new application development. This role is well suited for an engineering professional with experience in materials science, coatings, heat treatment, nitriding, carburizing, thermal diffusion, or related advanced manufacturing processes.
The Materials Engineer will work closely with customers, production teams, engineering, and business development to support technical requirements from RFQ through implementation. Key Responsibilities
- Support customer RFQs, technical inquiries, application reviews, and project requirements.
- Develop part drawings, fixtures, and related engineering documentation using 3D modeling software.
- Review blueprints, technical drawings, specifications, and customer requirements for manufacturability and process alignment.
- Coordinate new customer applications, implementation activities, production scheduling, and cross-functional project communication.
- Support product development, process improvement, customer relationships, business development efforts, and trade show activity.
- Prepare technical reports, forecasts, and project updates while following AS9100, ISO 9001, and OSHA safety standards.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Support customer applications, RFQs, and technical implementation projects.
- Develop fixtures, drawings, and engineering documentation using 3D modeling tools.
- Review technical specifications and coordinate production readiness for new customer applications.
- Support surface treatment, coating, heat treatment, and related manufacturing engineering projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 3 to 5 years of industrial or manufacturing engineering experience.
- Knowledge of PVD coatings, DLC coatings, nitriding, heat treatment, carburizing, thermal diffusion, or related surface treatment processes.
- Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and engineering specifications.
- SolidWorks or equivalent 3D modeling experience preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
- Ability to travel up to 20%.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a chemical, petrochemical, aerospace, automotive, tooling, or advanced manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with AS9100, ISO 9001, and OSHA standards.
- Experience supporting customer-facing engineering, applications engineering, or technical sales projects.
- Background working with fixtures, part design, coatings, heat treatment, or surface engineering applications.
