Data Architect

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Data Architect in Tallahassee, FL.

Overview:
The organization is undergoing a major modernization effort to re-engineer core financial systems and transition more than 100 applications, data assets, interfaces, and reporting tools to a new enterprise financial management platform. This role will lead analysis, remediation, and redesign efforts across data models, ETL processes, and reporting frameworks to ensure compatibility with the new standardized business processes, chart of accounts, and financial system architecture.

The position focuses heavily on assessing and enhancing existing data marts, financial data models, and integrations, ensuring alignment with cloud-first strategies, and supporting long-term scalability.

Scope of Work:
Data Analysis & Impact Assessment:
* Analyze existing financial data models and data marts to identify impacts related to new chart of accounts and financial process changes
* Evaluate dependencies across reporting, applications, and integrations to determine required updates
* Conduct impact assessments to ensure business processes and reporting remain aligned and uninterrupted

Data Model Design & Enhancement:
* Redesign and document data models incorporating new financial and accounting elements
* Ensure models are scalable, flexible, and follow industry best practices

Data Quality & ETL Optimization:
* Review existing ETL jobs to identify inefficiencies
* Implement enhanced data quality controls to improve accuracy, completeness, and timeliness
* Automate and streamline ETL workflows in partnership with development teams

Reporting & Visualization Best Practices:
* Provide guidance on reporting and visualization standards
* Ensure reporting frameworks align with new data structures and support effective financial analysis

Collaboration & Deployment:
* Work with development teams to deploy updated data models and integrations

REQUIREMENTS:
* 10+ years of experience with enterprise DBMS (Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, etc.) and integration tools
* 7+ years of experience with complex, large-scale database environments
* 7+ years as a data architect or senior data analyst with strong data modeling and ETL background
* Strong background with financial data systems, governance, and data quality
* Hands-on experience with ETL, data warehousing, and automation
* Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar visualization platforms
* Familiarity with cloud data platforms such as Azure or Snowflake

Knowledge:
* Financial management processes (accounting, ledger, budgeting)
* Relational and dimensional modeling
* Enterprise DBMS and ETL/integration tools
* Cloud data platforms, data governance, and data quality
* Reporting and visualization best practices
* Data security and compliance requirements

Preferred:
* Experience with modern data integration tools (Informatica Cloud, CD CDI, etc.)
* Strong analytical ability and experience translating business needs into technical solutions
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
