Applications Architect

Description

We are looking for an Applications Architect to join a Contract engagement based. In this role, you will help establish a new Aspera environment and guide the movement of critical file transfer capabilities into a newly separated technology landscape. This position is ideal for a hands-on architect who can balance technical design, migration planning, and cross-functional coordination while ensuring reliable data transfer operations.

Responsibilities:

Architect and implement a new Aspera platform that aligns with the client's target application and infrastructure environment.

Review current file transfer processes, access controls, endpoint connectivity, storage relationships, and configuration artifacts to determine what must be rebuilt or transitioned.

Design the future-state Aspera setup, including workflow structure, permission models, system dependencies, and integration points with connected platforms.

Create and execute plans to migrate or reconstruct legacy transfer configurations, representative data movement activities, and supporting technical documentation.

Partner with product stakeholders, project coordination teams, infrastructure resources, and platform engineers to track dependencies, resolve issues, and maintain delivery readiness.

Produce detailed implementation materials such as migration procedures, operational runbooks, validation steps, cutover plans, and support handoff documents.

Oversee testing and readiness activities to verify connectivity, access, transfer performance, and overall platform functionality before go-live.

Requirements

Proven experience working with Aspera in enterprise file transfer, customer data exchange, or application migration settings.
Hands-on background building, configuring, or transitioning Aspera environments, workflows, permissions, and related platform components.
Solid understanding of application migration principles, infrastructure dependencies, data transfer architecture, and cutover support activities.
Ability to convert legacy-state requirements into practical target-state designs and executable implementation plans.
Experience preparing technical documentation such as design specifications, migration plans, runbooks, operating procedures, and validation checklists.
Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across product, infrastructure, and migration leadership teams.
Capability to identify risks, blockers, dependencies, and key decision points that may affect delivery timelines.
Familiarity with technologies such as ASP.NET, .NET, application architecture, API development, and AWS is strongly preferred.
