About the Role:
We're seeking a talented Software Engineer who loves solving complex engineering challenges and building scalable, enterprise-grade solutions. If you have a strong foundation in Microservices Architecture and expertise in either Java or Python, we would love to meet you.

Important Notes:
  • Looking for a Python (Fast API) and Java developer (Spring Boot)
  • Some exposure to AI integration; this can be remote, but preference would be in Pittsburgh, PA

What You'll Bring
Technical Expertise
  • 3+ years of hands-on software development experience.
  • Proven experience designing and building scalable applications using Microservices Architecture.
  • Strong backend development skills in either:
    • Java (Spring Boot ecosystem), or
    • Python (modern backend frameworks).
  • Expertise in designing and developing robust RESTful APIs.
  • Solid understanding of distributed systems, service-oriented design patterns, and application scalability.
  • Experience implementing event-driven architectures using Apache Kafka or similar messaging platforms.
  • Strong SQL and database design skills with experience working on Oracle databases.
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker.
  • Exposure to container orchestration platforms including OpenShift and Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps, Git, and modern CI/CD practices.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset with expertise in debugging, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.

Bonus Points If You Have
  • Experience building Java Microservices using Spring Boot and Spring Batch.
  • Hands-on experience developing Python-based Microservices.
  • Exposure to AI/ML integrations and intelligent application development.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL.
  • Expertise in processing and analyzing large-scale datasets.
  • Experience building reporting, analytics, and data-driven solutions.
  • Knowledge of cloud-native engineering principles and modern deployment practices.
  • Domain exposure in Manufacturing, Supply Chain, or Industrial Operations.

What You'll Do
As part of our engineering team, you will:
  • Design and develop scalable, resilient microservices that power critical business applications.
  • Build modern backend services using Java or Python while following engineering best practices.
  • Create secure, high-performing APIs and seamless integrations across systems.
  • Develop event-driven solutions leveraging Kafka and distributed messaging patterns.
  • Build efficient batch-processing and large-scale data-processing solutions.
  • Optimize database performance through thoughtful design and efficient query development.
  • Collaborate closely with architects, product teams, UI engineers, QA specialists, and DevOps professionals.
  • Participate in architecture discussions, design reviews, code reviews, and Agile ceremonies.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and drive continuous improvements across applications.
  • Continuously learn, experiment, and adopt emerging technologies that create business value.

PAY RANGE AND BENEFITS:
Pay Range*:  $60.00 - $65.54 per hour
*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
