Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Data Catalog Engineer with hands-on expertise in designing and implementing enterprise data catalog solutions. The ideal candidate will have experience building automated metadata pipelines, integrating diverse data sources, and leveraging the Palantir Foundry platform to establish a scalable, searchable, and governed data catalog.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain enterprise data catalog solutions using Palantir Foundry.
- Develop automated metadata ingestion and cataloging pipelines to capture technical, business, and operational metadata.
- Integrate metadata from multiple data sources, databases, APIs, and cloud platforms.
- Implement data lineage, data discovery, metadata management, and business glossary capabilities.
- Collaborate with data engineers, data architects, governance teams, and business stakeholders to define metadata standards and catalog requirements.
- Ensure metadata quality, consistency, and compliance with enterprise data governance policies.
- Optimize catalog performance and automate metadata synchronization across platforms
- Support data stewardship initiatives by enabling data owners and business users to easily discover and understand enterprise data assets.
- Create technical documentation and provide knowledge transfer to internal teams.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering, metadata management, or data governance.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with Palantir Foundry, including Ontology, Pipelines, and data integration capabilities.
- Experience building automated data catalog or metadata management solutions.
- Strong understanding of metadata management, data lineage, business glossaries, and data governance principles.
- Experience developing ETL/ELT pipelines using Python, SQL, Spark, or similar technologies.
- Experience integrating metadata from relational databases, cloud data platforms, APIs, and enterprise applications.
- Strong SQL skills and proficiency in Python.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.
