About This Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Electrical Project Engineer to join our team in the development of electronic controls for a space-grade weapons program. The successful candidate will be responsible for all technical aspects of the project while supervising a team of Electrical Engineers as direct reports. This position will ensure the integration of technical efforts across Cognizant Engineers and supporting organizations. This role also includes schedule planning and Cost-Account Management. This position requires strong technical leadership, financial oversight, organizational skills, and a commitment to excellence in engineering.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the technical aspects of the project, ensuring alignment with program goals and engineering standards.
  • Supervise a team of Electrical Engineers as direct reports, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations.
  • Ensure the integrity and performance of electronic assemblies through rigorous testing and validation processes.
  • Drive the execution of engineering processes, including design, development, prototyping, and testing.
  • Plan and allocate engineering resources effectively to meet project milestones and deliverables.
  • Coordinate efforts across Cognizant Engineers and supporting organizations to ensure seamless technical integration within the project.
  • Oversee the project budget, manage costs, and ensure that the project remains within financial constraints. Track and report on financial performance and implement cost-saving measures as needed.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, quality, and reliability.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience with a minimum of 2 years in project engineering, preferably in aerospace or defense industries.
  • Proven experience in developing electronic systems, ideally with a focus on space-grade hardware.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with Cost-Account Management and budget oversight.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles, design processes, and testing methodologies.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Classified Information Statement - This position requires applicant to have an active security clearance.
