Role OverviewApex is seeking an experienced
GIS Analyst to help fill a technical and leadership gap left by a previous team member. This is an advanced GIS role with a strong focus on GIS enterprise support, ESRI platform modernization, and technical enablement across teams.
The ideal candidate will bring a mix of hands-on GIS expertise, light development skills, and the ability to serve as a technical advocate for GIS within the organization.
Key Responsibilities- Provide advanced support for the GIS Enterprise environment, including Portal administration
- Lead and assist with the migration of legacy Web AppBuilder applications ("kitchen sink" apps) to ESRI's newer platforms
- Research, evaluate, and help implement ESRI applications such as:
- Field Maps
- Survey123
- Other ESRI platform tools
- Support and expand field data collection initiatives
- Act as a technical resource and informal leader within the GIS team
- Collaborate with and support other departments; serve as a "cheerleader" for the GIS function across the organization
Technical Skills & ToolsRequired / Strongly Preferred:- ESRI Enterprise GIS & Portal
- ESRI Web Applications (Web AppBuilder experience required; migration experience a plus)
- Programming/scripting familiarity:
- Python
- Arcade (ESRI)
- RPI / general programming concepts
Nice to Have / Exposure:- FME (not heavy, but experience is welcomed)
- Snowflake (with geospatial components)
- Informatica
- GIS automation tools (support available internally)
Experience Requirements- 5+ years of GIS experience
- Ability to work independently in an advanced role
- Comfortable researching, testing, and introducing new GIS technologies
Industry Preference- Oil & Gas experience is a strong plus, but not required
