The Team

The IT Team at FlexTrade is a fast-growing team and is a vital function of our business. We are a group of 'get it done' builders and visionaries that are client-focused and strategically minded. Although we are a small team, we leverage our cross-functional expertise to deliver quality campaigns to our stakeholders from strategy through execution. You will be part of a team managing a fully virtualized Linux and Windows infrastructure and Cisco network, making heavy use of configuration management and source control.

About You

The ideal candidate will have excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work both independently and within a team. You will have excellent attention to detail and be able to prioritize your workload, whether it be production escalation issues, tickets, or wider projects.

You will have a background in Red Hat Linux with experience in supporting, configuring, and installing. You will be experienced in using scripting tools to automate repetitive tasks across large IT estates.

  • 7+ years' experience in Linux Administration, ideally RedHat / CentOS
  • Experience in Linux OS upgrades and migrations, including Leapp
  • Extensive experience administrating Red Hat, CentOS or any enterprise or community Linux platform, with minimal support, including patching, package management, performance tuning, troubleshooting, networking, user management, and security.
  • Extensive experience with scripting in Bash or Python.
  • In-depth experience with config management tools/frameworks such as Ansible and Puppet.
  • Detailed knowledge of protocols such as DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, LDAP, SMTP, NFS and SNMP.
  • Experience in configuration, management & troubleshooting for technologies such as Nginx, HAProxy, Apache, Squid, Iptables/Shorewall, SSL Certificates
  • Detailed knowledge of Linux System Monitoring (Solarwinds / Opsramp) and reporting.
  • Detailed knowledge of NTP/PTP, time synchronization technologies
  • Knowledge of application and server fault tolerance and load balancing services.
  • Knowledge of linux server hardening, vulnerability assessment, and server patching. Hands on experience with installation of MySQL, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL will be an added advantage.
  • Experience with SAN/SCSI storage systems, network attached storage systems, NFS, CIFS (Windows and Samba)
  • Experienced in incident management, change control management, and problem management to support processes and methodologies.
  • Hands on experience in resolving system performance issues, root cause analysis, and complex problems.
  • Have worked in an ITIL compliant environment, worked with change control, and incident mitigation.
  • Good to have knowledge in AWS Cloud, Docker, Jenkins, Git & Windows Server Administration.
  • Strong knowledge in VMWare and VCenter is a plus.
  • Desirable-related certifications such as RHCSA, RHCE, Puppet Certified Professional, etc.
  • A good working knowledge of ServiceNow would be desirable.
