JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst / Business Systems Analyst with strong ION platform expertise, OpenLink Endur experience, and soft commodities trading knowledge to support commodity trading, hedging, risk management, and front-to-back trade operations.
The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience supporting ETRM/CTRM platforms, working with business and technical stakeholders, documenting requirements, coordinating SIT/UAT, managing production issues, and supporting trade-processing workflows.
MANDATORY SKILLS – PLEASE READ CAREFULLY
• Experience with ION XTP or a similar ION trading platform supporting trade processing, integrations, and operational workflows.
• Strong functional or techno-functional experience with ION OpenLink / OpenLink Endur supporting trading and risk operations.
• Soft commodities experience is mandatory – grains, seeds, oilseeds, or other agricultural commodities.
• 7+ years of IT Business Analysis / Business Systems Analysis experience supporting commodity trading and hedging processes.
• Strong understanding of trade lifecycle, trade capture, positions, exposures, P&L, settlements, confirmations, and risk reporting.
• Experience with requirements gathering, functional specifications, process mapping, user stories, acceptance criteria, SIT, UAT, defect triage, and production support.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Gather and document business requirements for commodity trading, hedging, and risk management initiatives.
• Analyze front-office, middle-office, and back-office workflows and translate business needs into functional requirements.
• Support ETRM/CTRM application enhancements, integrations, configuration, and solution validation.
• Coordinate system integration testing, user acceptance testing, defect resolution, deployment readiness, and post-production stabilization.
• Investigate application incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and coordinate resolutions with internal IT teams and external vendors.
• Support trade reconciliation, market data, pricing, position reporting, settlements, confirmations, and accounting integrations.
• Partner with traders, risk teams, operations, product owners, architects, QA teams, and technology stakeholders.
• Maintain functional documentation, process maps, operational procedures, test evidence, and support runbooks.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
Candidates must demonstrate relevant project experience with the required ION platforms and soft commodities. Generic Business Analysts, candidates with only general energy trading experience, or candidates without relevant commodity trading platform experience may not be suitable.
