Job Overview:

• This position supports the execution of routine testing in the Quality Control Microbiology laboratory while strictly adhering to site work instructions, Federal Regulations, cGMP, and organizational policies and procedures. The candidate is required to perform routine testing as scheduled to support production, method validation, and the stability program, and to complete the required documentation.

Responsibilities:

• The candidate should possess knowledge of general microbiological techniques, including aseptic processing and the culturing of both bacterial and viral isolates. The candidate s responsibilities include assisting in maintaining the safety and compliance of the laboratory work area and performing cleaning of laboratories, equipment, and ancillary areas as required. The successful candidate will attend and contribute to scheduled team, department, and safety meetings.
• This position requires proficiency and understanding of the theory related to processes, assays, and equipment, as well as the ability to identify issues or trends. The candidate will develop a working knowledge of appropriate compendia and regulatory guidance and participate in various assigned phases of Quality Control testing.
• Visual evaluation of vials, syringes, plates, bottles, and canisters.
• Setup and breakdown of equipment.
• Documentation, waste disposal, cleaning of laboratories, and all other assigned activities.
• The candidate must pass an eye exam and receive vaccinations to be eligible for this position.

Requirements:

• Bachelor s Degree in Microbiology or Biological Sciences with 1-2 years of experience.
• Prior Quality Control experience is desirable.
• Knowledge of microbiological techniques and experience with tissue culture, sterility, or bioburden is preferred.
• Exceptional attention to detail and strong writing skills are crucial.
• The individual must be familiar with cGMP guidelines.
• The candidate must be able to work in a team environment.
