Aptask Global Workforce (AGW) is seeking a Scientist for an Onsite position with a Major Pharmaceutical Company located in West Point, PA. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity. This role is focused on the end-to-end generation of Omics data using high-throughput automation within a laboratory environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with DNA/RNA, PCR reactions using automation like TECAN and Hamilton, and Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) techniques.
Responsibilities: - End-to-end generation of Omics data using high throughput automation
Requirements: - Bachelor's with 8+ years of industry experience, Master's with 6+ years of industry experience, or PhD with 4+ years of industry experience in Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Comfortable in a lab environment
- Experience working with DNA and RNA
- Experience performing PCR reactions using automation (TECAN, Hamilton)
- Experience operating, troubleshooting, and programming liquid handlers (TECAN, Hamilton)
- Experience performing Next Generation Sequencing (Illumina)
- Wet chemistry laboratory skills (pipetting, buffer preparation, filtration, dilution, stoichiometry)
- Proficiency with technical writing and laboratory records (laboratory notebooks, chemical inventory, data management)
- Excellent collaborative and team-working skills
- Strong technical problem-solving abilities, data interpretation and presentation competence
Desired skills: - Experience working with analytical instrumentation (plate readers, thermocyclers, High-throughput microscopy, flow cytometry)
- Experience with laboratory operations
- Experience working in an industry environment
- Experience troubleshooting technical issues (experimental, equipment-related issues)
- Experience in method development and method transfer
Pay range: up to $72.62 per hour
