Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Telecom Billing & Invoicing Architect with 15+ years of experience in telecommunications billing, invoicing, and mainframe-based systems. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in COBOL, DB2, VSAM, and telecom billing platforms, with a proven ability to architect scalable, reliable, and high-volume billing and invoicing solutions.
The candidate will be responsible for defining solution architecture, leading technical design, driving modernization initiatives, and collaborating with business, product, engineering, and operations teams to deliver robust telecom billing solutions.
Required Qualifications
15+ years of experience in IT, with significant experience in the telecommunications domain.
Strong hands-on and architectural experience in Telecom Billing and Invoicing.
Extensive experience with Mainframe technologies, including:
COBOL
DB2
VSAM
JCL
Mainframe batch processing
Strong understanding of telecom billing lifecycle, including usage processing, rating, charging, bill calculation, invoice generation, adjustments, payments, and reconciliation.
Experience working with high-volume transaction and billing systems.
Strong understanding of data modeling, batch processing, system integration, and performance tuning.
Proven experience in solution architecture and technical design for large-scale enterprise systems.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with telecom BSS/OSS architecture and billing ecosystem.
Experience with billing modernization and legacy-to-modern platform transformation.
Knowledge of mediation, rating engines, CRM, order management, payment systems, and revenue management.
Experience with API-based and event-driven integration architectures.
Exposure to cloud technologies and hybrid architecture patterns.
Experience with Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies.
Familiarity with telecom standards, industry processes, and regulatory billing requirements.
