About the Role
The client is seeking a Hardware Development Engineer Level 2 to join its hardware engineering team focused on developing next-generation industrial automation and control products. This role offers an opportunity to work through the full hardware product development lifecycle, from circuit design and integration to testing, verification, and compliance.
The ideal candidate is a collaborative engineer with strong hardware development experience, a passion for learning, and the ability to contribute to innovative product development initiatives in a fast-paced Agile environment.
 
Key Responsibilities
Participate in the design and development of industrial automation hardware products, including system architecture, circuit design, integration, and verification.
Program, analyze, troubleshoot, and debug electronic hardware prototypes.
Create and maintain engineering documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and validation reports.
Conduct circuit analysis and hardware troubleshooting to identify and resolve design issues.
Support hardware simulations, testing activities, and automated test development.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including firmware, software, quality, and manufacturing engineers.
Research and evaluate new technologies and engineering tools to improve product development processes.
Assist with regulatory compliance and industry-standard testing activities.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and engineering best practices.
 
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in hardware product development.
Experience using electronic design and schematic capture tools.
Ability to read, interpret, and troubleshoot electronic schematics.
Strong understanding of circuit theory and electronic system design.
Experience with at least one of the following technologies:
Microprocessors
Digital Logic Devices
Analog Circuit Design
DC Power Conversion
CPLDs/FPGAs
Ethernet Technologies
Wireless Communication Technologies
Hands-on experience with hardware debugging and test equipment, including:
Oscilloscopes
Logic Analyzers
Hardware Debuggers
Familiarity with industry standards such as:
IEC 61508 Functional Safety
IEC 61000 EMC Standards
Other electronic product compliance standards
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
Strong attention to detail and ownership of assigned tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working within Agile or Scaled Agile development environments.
Programming experience in Python and/or C++.
Experience developing automated hardware test solutions.
Knowledge of hardware simulation and verification methodologies.
Familiarity with industrial automation products and embedded systems.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across engineering disciplines.
Growth mindset with a willingness to learn new technologies and expand technical responsibilities.

Job Summary
The client is seeking a Hardware Development Engineer Level 3 to join its Product Development team. This role involves designing, developing, testing, and validating advanced industrial automation products. The ideal candidate will contribute throughout the entire hardware development lifecycle, including hardware architecture, circuit design, prototyping, verification, troubleshooting, and regulatory compliance.
This position offers an opportunity to work in a collaborative Agile environment while developing innovative industrial control products and mentoring junior engineers.
Responsibilities
  • Design and develop industrial automation hardware products.
  • Contribute to hardware architecture, integration, and verification activities.
  • Program, analyze, test, and troubleshoot electronic hardware prototypes.
  • Create design documentation, test plans, and validation reports.
  • Research and evaluate new technologies, tools, and engineering methods.
  • Support test automation and hardware simulation initiatives.
  • Perform root cause analysis and troubleshoot hardware failures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams in an Agile development environment.

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
  • Experience using hardware design and schematic capture tools.
  • Hands-on experience with:

    • Logic analyzers
    • Hardware debuggers
    • Electronic test equipment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with Industrial Control Systems and PLCs.
  • Experience with Functional Safety Design.
  • Experience working in a Scaled Agile environment.
  • Familiarity with:
    • IEC 61508 Functional Safety Standards
    • IEC 61000 EMC Standards
  • Experience with test automation and design simulation.
  • Strong attention to detail, ownership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to mentor junior engineers and take technical leadership responsibilities.
