Sr Hardware Lab Tech
Full Time opportunity in Belmont, CA
We are seeking a Lab Technician to maintain overall system and individual hardware debugging, troubleshooting and test configurations. You will help keep the lab operational and assist in assembling and testing new hardware devices. Work requires SMD component rework, precision soldering, and detailed testing to ensure full functionality. The successful individual must be outgoing, self-motivated and have the ability to proactively see what needs to be done.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Configure and support various test configurations defined by both the engineering team and yourself.
Operate and maintain the test systems.
Update firmware configurations including drivers and software.
Organize and maintain the lab stock, inventory, tools and equipment.
Do mechanical assembly of our products.
SMT assembly and rework on surface mount PCBs (0402, TSOP, SOJ and FQFP).
Assemble cables.
MUST HAVE ATTRIBUTES/SKILLS
At least six years experience as a technician in an R&D environment.
Reading and interpreting schematics.
Troubleshooting competence.
Equipment knowledge includes: DMM, Power Supplies, and Oscilloscope.
Fluency in English (written and spoken) and strong communication skills.
SHOULD HAVE ATTRIBUTES/SKILLS
Competent in use and operation of Windows PC OS and Linux OS (includes updating the BIOS and drivers).
Competent in using Microsoft Office and G-suite products.
Database exposure.
Mechanical aptitude.
