Summary

Job Description

Kulicke & Soffa is seeking a full-time on-site electrical engineering co-op to help develop its next-generation of wire bonders. You will work in a team and meaningfully participate in the design of electronics and controls including: modeling and analysis using MATLAB , Simulink , LTspice , and others; PCBs using Altium Designer , implementation of real-time software and firmware, cables using Zuken E3.cable, preparation of documentation and drawings for production release, and hands-on assembly and troubleshooting in an electronics laboratory environment. K&S electrical engineering covers many areas and co-ops are generally given opportunities to join projects that are of particular interest to them.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in the daily Electrical Engineering project task execution of electrical system/subsystem of Semiconductor equipment
  • Design and evaluate analog/digital circuits
  • Perform systematic troubleshooting and improvement on new/existing electrical design
  • Support production/field issue with respect to system/subsystem related problem as a team within cross functional group
  • Conduct engineering verification and setup/execute reliability testing plan
  • Propose root cause analysis by performing quantitative measurement
  • Evaluates prototype designs against requirements, performs testing, documents and analyses data and write reports
  • Design and Simulate the digital and analog circuits
  • Design and Debug some simple FPGA firmware, PCBA, and cables
  • Working with other teams and inside of the EE team

Qualifications

Knowledge & Experience requirements
  • Basic knowledge in digital circuit design, firmware implementation and analog circuit design
  • Knowledge of motion control electronic hardware design
  • Knowledge of position-loop PID control a plus
  • Knowledge of VME, PCIe, RS485, Ethernet, LVDS, and SERDES is a plus
  • Knowledge of machine level electrical system architecture design is a plus

Education Requirements
  • Pursuing Bachelor's in Electrical or Computer Engineering
