Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Asset Management Audit Consultant to support a strategic engagement with a leading banking client in New York City. This role will lead complex audit engagements across Global Prime Funds operations, provide advisory support, and ensure regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions. The ideal candidate will bring deep asset management audit expertise and the ability to engage confidently with senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Audit Execution (40%)

Lead end-to-end audits of Global Prime Funds operations, including fund administration, portfolio management, trading, compliance, and operations

Plan and execute audits across US, EMEA, and APAC regions

Assess key risks including liquidity, credit, operational, and regulatory risks

Perform audit testing aligned with SOC 1/2, ISAE 3402, SEC Rule 2a-7, and MMFR

Document findings, prepare detailed audit reports, and present results to senior management

Manage 4 6 major audits annually

Regulatory & Compliance (30%)

Ensure compliance with SEC Investment Company Act, Rule 2a-7, FINRA regulations

Monitor regulatory changes and assess their impact on audit strategy

Review compliance programs including NAV calculations, shadow pricing, and liquidity assessments

Support regulatory examinations (SEC, FINRA, FCA, MAS)

Review regulatory filings such as Form N-MFP and Form PF

Consulting & Advisory (20%)

Provide strategic advisory on control design, process improvement, and risk mitigation

Advise on new products, technologies, and operational changes

Conduct pre-implementation reviews and risk assessments

Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Prime Funds operations

Stakeholder Management (10%)

Partner with Portfolio Management, Operations, Compliance, Risk, and Technology teams

Present audit results to C-suite executives and Board committees

Coordinate with external auditors and Fund Boards

Required Qualifications

Education & Certifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

CPA, CIA, CISA, or CFA (Required)

Experience

8+ years of audit experience in asset management

3+ years focused on money market / prime funds

3+ years in Big 4, internal audit, or consulting at Senior/Manager level

Proven experience leading global, complex audits

Strong C-suite and senior stakeholder engagement experience

Technical Expertise

Asset management operations (front, middle, and back office)

Money market fund regulations (SEC Rule 2a-7, MMF Reform)

Fund accounting, NAV calculations, and pricing methodologies

Risk frameworks (COSO, COBIT)

Financial instruments: repos, commercial paper, CDs, treasuries

Audit & analytics tools: ACL, IDEA, Tableau, TeamMate

Core Competencies

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Excellent written and verbal communication

Advanced Excel and data analytics skills

Ability to manage multiple priorities in matrix organizations

Preferred Qualifications

MBA or Master's degree in Accounting/Finance

10+ years total experience with 5+ years in asset management

Big 4 Asset Management practice background

Knowledge of UCITS and global money market regulations

Experience with SQL, Python, or advanced analytics
