Schedule: Hybrid (4 days onsite, 1 day remote)

Pay Range: $65-75 an hour

Job Description:
The Software Engineer will design, develop, test, and support cloud-native applications and services for Ford's Connected Consumer and Vehicle platforms. This role focuses on building scalable, resilient microservices using Java, Spring Boot, Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform), and modern CI/CD practices while collaborating with architects, security teams, and cross-functional partners to deliver secure, high-performing solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and maintain cloud-native applications and microservices using Java, Spring Boot, and RESTful APIs.
  • Build and deploy scalable infrastructure and platform services on Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform).
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub, Jenkins, and related DevOps tools.
  • Create automation scripts and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions for cloud resource provisioning.
  • Design and optimize MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and other database solutions for performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Implement secure application architectures utilizing OAuth, identity services, and enterprise security standards.
  • Collaborate with architects, product teams, and security stakeholders to deliver high-quality technical solutions.
  • Develop automated testing strategies and support continuous delivery practices to improve release quality and speed.
  • Monitor application performance, troubleshoot production issues, and optimize system reliability and availability.
  • Support cloud modernization initiatives, migration efforts, disaster recovery planning, and cost optimization strategies.
  • Participate in Agile development activities including sprint planning, code reviews, backlog refinement, and Jira-based project delivery.
  • Contribute to API design, load testing, threat modeling, documentation, and software engineering best practices.
