Python Developer - Investment Domain

Job Overview: We are looking for an Application Support Engineer with experience supporting business-critical applications in financial services, ideally within investment banking, capital markets, or asset management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide production and application support for business-critical systems.
• Troubleshoot application, database, and data-related issues and perform root cause analysis.
• Develop and maintain Python scripts for automation, monitoring, and operational support.
• Write SQL queries for data analysis, troubleshooting, reconciliation, and performance tuning.
• Support application deployments, release validation, and post-deployment monitoring.
• Work with business users, technology teams, and vendors to resolve incidents.
• Maintain support documentation, runbooks, and knowledge articles.
• Identify recurring issues and implement automation and process improvements.

Required Skills:

• 5+ years of application or production support experience.
• Strong hands-on Python scripting and SQL skills.
• Experience with relational databases, data flows, and ETL processes.
• Knowledge of Linux/Unix environments and shell scripting.
• Experience with incident management, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
• Understanding of APIs, file-based integrations, and batch processing.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in investment banking, capital markets, asset management, or hedge funds.
• Familiarity with Bloomberg, FactSet, or Refinitiv market data.
• Exposure to Airflow, Prefect, or similar scheduling and orchestration tools.
• Knowledge of investment operations, performance attribution, compliance, or risk management.
