RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a highly skilled Technical Business Analyst in Maryland Heights, MO.
Overview:
This team is responsible for intake, analysis, and delivery of new business requests and enhancements across a complex ecosystem of middleware applications, APIs, and back-office systems.
This role requires a Business Analyst who can effectively communicate with both business stakeholders and technical teams. The ideal candidate will be comfortable gathering and documenting business requirements while also understanding technical concepts such as RESTful APIs, database structures, and SQL queries. This person will serve as the front line for incoming requests, helping stakeholders clarify business needs, define requirements, and translate them into actionable deliverables for development teams.
Key Responsibilities:
* Serve as the primary point of contact for intake of new business requests and system enhancements
* Meet with business stakeholders to understand the purpose, objectives, and expected outcomes of requested changes
* Ask probing questions to identify underlying business needs, dependencies, and technical impacts
* Gather, analyze, and document both business and functional requirements
Create comprehensive documentation including:
* Business Requirements Documents (BRDs)
* Functional Requirements
* User Stories and Acceptance Criteria
* Process Flows and Workflow Diagrams
* Gap Analyses
* Collaborate closely with architects, developers, QA teams, and product owners
* Translate business needs into technical requirements for middleware and API development teams
* Review and analyze RESTful APIs, request/response payloads, and integration points
* Understand database schemas and perform basic SQL queries for data validation and analysis
* Participate in grooming sessions, sprint planning, UAT, and defect resolution
* Ensure all requirements are clearly documented, traceable, and approved by stakeholders
REQUIREMENTS:
* 5+ years of Business Analyst experience, with at least 3 years in a highly technical environment
* Strong experience working as a Technical Business Analyst supporting software development and system integrations
* Experience with middleware, back-office systems, and enterprise application integrations
Solid understanding of APIs, including:
* What APIs are and how they enable system communication
* RESTful API concepts
* JSON/XML payloads
* API request and response structures
* Working knowledge of relational databases and the ability to write basic SQL queries
* Experience creating BRDs, process flows, user stories, and acceptance criteria
* Strong proficiency with Atlassian Jira and Agile/Scrum methodologies
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with both business and technical stakeholders
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Experience with intake and prioritization of new project requests
Preferred Qualifications:
* Telecommunications or cable industry experience
* Previous experience supporting ordering, billing, provisioning, or back-office systems
* Familiarity with middleware platforms and enterprise integration patterns
* Experience with tools such as Microsoft Visio, Lucidchart, or Confluence
* Experience working in large enterprise environments

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
