Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced DevOps Engineer III to join our team in Houston, Texas. This role requires a senior-level professional with extensive AWS production support and engineering experience, advanced Terraform expertise, and a strong background in container platforms and Kubernetes/EKS. Responsibilities:
  • Provide senior-level AWS production support and engineering, including troubleshooting and improving production workloads on AWS services such as ECS, EKS, S3, Lambda, DocumentDB, DynamoDB, IAM, networking, logging, and monitoring.
  • Design, develop, debug, and maintain Terraform-based infrastructure for AWS at an enterprise scale, including reusable modules and state management.
  • Contribute to module design, code reviews, standards documentation, and reusable patterns for AWS services.
  • Manage and maintain Helm charts and Kubernetes manifests for repeatable application and platform deployments.
  • Lead or significantly contribute to production deployments, upgrades, incident resolution, and operational support for Kubernetes/EKS-based platforms.
  • Deploy and troubleshoot distributed applications using Docker, ECS, Kubernetes, or EKS, including service discovery, ingress/load balancing, network policies, and logging/monitoring integration.
  • Implement GitOps or CI/CD-driven deployment patterns using tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, Harness, Argo CD, or Flux.
  • Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, improve operational standards, and produce clear runbooks, design notes, and support documentation.
  • Demonstrate operational maturity, including observability, incident response, change management, security hardening, automation, disaster recovery, and continuous improvement of platform reliability, scalability, performance, and cost efficiency.

Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of hands-on DevOps, SRE, platform engineering, or cloud infrastructure experience, with at least 5 years supporting AWS production workloads.
  • Preferred certification: AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional or AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional. Associate-level certification may be considered with strong hands-on senior experience.
  • 5+ years of advanced Terraform and infrastructure-as-code experience, including designing, developing, debugging, and maintaining Terraform-based infrastructure for AWS.
  • 3+ years of hands-on Kubernetes or Amazon EKS experience in production environments.
  • Preferred certification: Certified Kubernetes Administrator or Certified Kubernetes Application Developer.
  • Strong understanding of Terraform execution plans, state management, resource dependencies, module versioning, and promotion of infrastructure changes through controlled environments.
  • Experience with automated validation testing and CI/CD integration for infrastructure changes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical risks, tradeoffs, and recommendations to various stakeholders.
  • Ability to take ownership of ambiguous production issues and drive reliable solutions.

Pay Range: $55 - $57
