Job DescriptionYou will be the F-35 Systems Engineer (Software) - Level 2 for the Fluid and Mechanical Systems Team which is responsible for advancing the F-35 program's hydraulic, landing-gear, and fuel software capabilities.
What You Will Be DoingAs the F-35 Systems Engineer (Software) - Level 2 you will be responsible for delivering high-impact software updates, creating analytical tools, and ensuring the aircraft's critical subsystems operate flawlessly. Your work will directly influence mission readiness and safety.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing and implementing system-level logic changes to aircraft software applications.
- Developing and maintaining MATLAB code for efficient database queries and analysis.
- Providing software-logic support for aircraft troubleshooting and root-cause corrective action investigations.
- Coordinating fuel-software updates with suppliers and ensuring timely deployment.

Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, or Computer Science
Experience using MATLAB
Desired skills Experience in software tool design and development
Background in aircraft software systems development
Understanding of hydraulic system mechanization
Knowledge of fuel system mechanization
Familiarity with landing gear mechanization concepts
Proficiency in creating and interpreting state flow diagrams
Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities
Hands-on experience with GitLab and related tools
Working knowledge of JIRA for project and issue tracking
Understanding of Agile development methodologies
Proficient in programming languages: C, C++, and Python
Familiarity with software requirements, standards, and best practices

Work Schedule InformationLockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
National Pay StatementPay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $73,400 - $129,260. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
