Job Title: Electrical Engineer

Description:
Designs, develops, and tests electrical devices and equipment, including communications systems, power generators, motors and navigation systems, and electrical systems for automobiles and aircraft. Oversees the manufacturing of these devices, systems, and equipment. Designs new ways to use electrical power to develop or improve products. Performs detailed calculations to develop manufacturing, construction, and installation standards and specifications. Directs manufacturing, installing, and testing of electrical equipment to ensure that products meet specifications and codes. Investigates complaints from customers or the public, evaluate problems, and recommend solutions. Works with project managers on production efforts to ensure that projects are completed satisfactorily, on time, and within budget. Designs electronic components, software, products, or systems for commercial, industrial, medical, military, or scientific applications. Analyzes customer needs and determine electrical system requirements, capacity, and cost to develop a system plan. Develops maintenance and testing procedures for electronic components and equipment. Evaluates systems and recommend design modifications or equipment repair. Inspects electronic equipment, instruments, and systems to make sure they meet safety standards and applicable regulations. Plans and develops applications and modifications for electronic properties used in parts and systems to improve technical performance.

The Group focuses on delivering new advanced technology capabilities in timelines typically under a year. Projects are conducted in a closely-knit team environment consisting of various subject matter experts, and leverages resources from multiple groups to successfully execute fast-paced demonstration efforts.
The electrical-engineering-centric candidate should have the following skills (highest to lowest importance):
Electronics design for:
- low power and battery-operated systems
- analog circuits & sensors
- digital circuits, digital interfaces, sensors
- embedded software development for microcontrollers
Experience with:
- electro-optics
- RF sensors and communication protocols
- Printed Circuit Board (PCB) schematic capture and layout tools
- NVidia Jetson GPU products
- Ability to architect, design, and program FPGA inputs and systems.
- FPGA debugging and prototyping
Education Requirement:
- Masters with 3+ years of experience, or BS with 5+ years of experience working with small engineering/software teams
Others:
- Clearance: Interim clearance is sufficient, with potential to clear to Top Secret if required by a future project
- Work Location: Candidates will be 100% onsite with some flexibility for personal situations; there isn't likely to be regular remote work.
- Interview process: Interview process will likely be an initial phone screen, followed by a wider audience technical interview.
