About the Role
Finance Technology organization is modernizing its stress forecasting infrastructure. We're looking for a Java/Scala engineer to help drive that transformation. You'll be building next-generation platforms while keeping critical legacy systems running smoothly.

Responsibilities:
Lead the design, development, and delivery of scalable, enterprise-grade stress testing and forecasting platform in collaboration with Modelers and Strategists.
Architect and implement robust software systems using Java, Scala, Front end, and other modern technologies, ensuring best practices in SDLC, code quality, and performance.
Mentor, lead, and motivate a high performance team of engineers
Maintain and support a highly customized legacy DFAST model during the platform transition
Drive the adoption of GenAI, Copilot, and AI-driven development practices to enhance automation, reporting, and developer productivity.
Agentic Coding
Promote agile methodologies, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines for efficient and reliable software delivery.
Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, and cross-functional teams to define requirements, evaluate tools, and deliver innovative solutions aligned with business goals.
Required Experience:
8+ years of backend development experience or 3+ years in a lead developer capacity
Deep understanding of databases including Snowflake, data structures, and query languages
Deep understanding of algorithms, design patterns, and modern SDLC practices
Proven experience building and scaling enterprise-level applications
Demonstrated experience leveraging GenAI, Copilot, or AI/ML tools for software development, automation, or reporting
Business acumen and prior exposure to finance, investment banking, or related domains
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
Background in Financial Services or Banking
Preferred Experience:
Full-stack development experience
Angular
Knowledge of Databricks
Ability to quickly learn new technologies
Familiarity with Power BI, Apache Airflow, OLAP tools, and workflow automation
Experience with tool evaluation, POC delivery, and greenfield project leadership
Regulatory reporting (DFAST, CCAR, or similar)

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New York, NY.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80.00 - $85.00/hr.
