Summary
Role Overview
As an IT Project Manager Contractor, you will oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of IT projects. You will develop project plans including scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation, coordinate meetings, ensure stakeholder alignment, identify and mitigate risks, monitor progress, and ensure timely, within-scope, and budget-compliant delivery.
This role is ideal for candidates with prior hands-on clinical experience (nurse, clinician, pharmacist, or related direct patient care/clinical operations role) who want to apply their background to program delivery and project leadership. You will use clinical knowledge to inform planning, risk management, and stakeholder engagement while leading day-to-day execution of initiatives impacting patient care, provider workflows, and clinical operations. You will work closely with clinical leaders, product managers, designers, and engineering teams to ensure delivery supports safe, effective, and efficient care.
Key Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end delivery of projects supporting clinical operations, digital health products, or patient-facing solutions
Translate clinical workflows, constraints, and priorities into project plans, milestones, and deliverables
Develop and maintain integrated project plans including scope, schedule, dependencies, risks, and resourcing
Facilitate collaboration with clinical stakeholders, product managers, designers, engineers, and operations teams
Apply clinical context to identify risks, workflow impacts, and patient safety considerations
Run project governance including status meetings, stakeholder check-ins, and reporting to leadership
Manage risks, issues, and dependencies and drive mitigation plans to closure
Support change management, training, communications, and rollout planning for clinical-facing solutions
Ensure alignment with compliance, privacy, and clinical standards
Track progress against milestones and support measurement of operational and clinical outcomes
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
Prior clinical experience in a hospital, clinic, or healthcare setting as a nurse, clinician, pharmacist, or related direct patient care/clinical operations role
3+ years of project management or program delivery experience
Strong understanding of clinical workflows, care delivery environments, and healthcare operations
Experience working with cross-functional clinical, technical, and operational teams
Ability to manage multiple workstreams, priorities, and dependencies
Strong communication skills with clinical and non-clinical audiences
Experience with project management tools and documentation including project plans, RAID logs, and status reporting
Comfort working in fast-paced, complex healthcare environments
Additional Qualifications
Experience supporting digital health, EHR-related, or clinical workflow transformation initiatives
Familiarity with agile or hybrid delivery models
Experience working with product, design, or engineering teams
Prior consulting or large program experience
Exposure to healthcare regulations, privacy, and compliance
PMP, Agile, or related certification
Interest in long-term career growth in healthcare delivery
